Wichita pet store offers $4,000 reward for stolen puppies' return

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Petland stores in east and west Wichita are asking for the public's help to find three criminals who broke in and stole a total of four puppies from each store.

Petland in east Wichita says thieves broke in to its store around 2:15 a.m. and stole a female blue merle Miniature Australian Shepherd and a black and white male French Bulldog.

"Both of these puppies are around 9 weeks and are easily stressed," said the pet store in a Facebook post.

The west Wichita location experienced a similar incident Tuesday morning.

Petland West Wichita said thieves broke a kennel window "which likely resulted in injury to the puppies" and stole a male Golden Retriever and a female Husky Heeler.

Wichita police have since located the Golden Retriever and the Husky Heeler.

Both thefts were caught on tape.

Petland East Wichita says it is offering a $4,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the thieves - as well as the safe return of the puppies

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact the Wichita Police Department and reference case #18C000252.
