GREAT BEND, Kan. (RELEASE) A fire destroyed a small hunting lodge at Camp Aldrich near Great Bend.

The Claflin Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at Trail’s End Lodge shortly before 6 a.m. Friday.

Officials say the Camp Ranger noticed flames coming from the building when he began his shift.

No one was injured and the camp was not in use at the time.

A preliminary investigation indicates electrical problems may be the cause of the fire. The initial estimate of loss is placed at $165,000.

Every year, Camp Hope is held in June at Camp Aldrich. The non-profit organization aims to provide children with cancer a safe haven in the summer.

This is the second fire at the camp in the past few years. In 2014, the community center was destroyed.
