The deadline to file your taxes in 2018 is Tuesday, April 17.
Many opt for online e-filings but if you plan to mail your returns, the United States Postal Service recommends having your documents mailed early on Tuesday.
USPS advises tax filers to always include their return addresses on mail including apartment numbers, suite numbers and floor information. If you are using a collection box, make sure the posted pick-up time has not passed to ensure your return will receive the April 17 postmark.
Be sure to pay all necessary postage as filings that do not include proper postage payments will be returned and likely result in a late filing.
