LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. Two people are dead after a plane crashes near Kansas City.
Police in Lee's Summit, Mo. say a small plane crashed at Lee's Summit Municipal Airport a little after 6 p.m. Tuesday. Police are working with FAA investigators to determine where the flight originated.
Our news partners at KCTV5 say the plane's owner is listed as a company out of Des Moines, Iowa and records show the plane was purchased in December.
KCTV-5 says the plane is a 1964 PIPER PA-28-235 with a fixed wing single engine, according to aircraft registration records. KCTV-5 reports the plane came to rest on the west side of the airport on the tarmac.
