United Way sets up volunteer cleanup center in Eureka

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) People who'd like to volunteer to clean up tornado debris after in Eureka should go to United Way's volunteer reception center located at Eureka Junior & High School, 815 N. Jefferson, Eureka, KS.

The volunteer center will be open until 6 p.m. on Friday; 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday and Noon - 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Volunteers should wear appropriate work clothing, including close-toed shoes and gloves, and can bring tools for cleanup work.

Those who want to donate material items to assist emergency personnel should call 2-1-1.

The United Way set up a "virtual warehouse" to take information about in-kind donations to match up with ongoing needs of emergency personnel.

Callers will be asked for name and contact information and the item(s) to be offered.

Emergency personnel will then be contacted for acceptance of the donated items.
