WPD Crime Sheets: Wednesday, April 27

Each day, we comb through pages upon pages of crime reports from the Wichita Police Department. Below is a quick glance at some bits and pieces from those sheets.
These reports are designed to give you an idea of what residents and police are dealing with around town.

7:16 am
A 61/f says someone got into her truck and ransacked it. This happened in the 3400 block of E. Mildred. She says this is the second time it’s happened in the past two weeks. She says nothing was taken this time. She says her glove box is wired shut, but that wiring was destroyed.

Stolen check…
8:21 am
A 34/f reports someone cashing her stolen check. The case is listed as a forgery.

8:30 am
A parent reports her son sending an inappropriate video of himself and a 15-year-old girl. That video led to a physical confrontation between him and at least two other people.

Scam attempts…
9:46 am
A 61/m reports receiving multiple phone calls from someone claiming he was involved in a Federal crime and a warrant had been issued. When he told the caller he’s never committed a crime of any kind and has never even been to New York (which is where the call originated), the caller started cursing at him and hung up.

Stolen watch…
9:57 am
A 35/m says someone swiped his watch from the counter of the bathroom sink at church. This happened in the 12600 block of E. 21st N. The loss is listed at more than $1,000.

Messy driveway…
10:05 am
A 64/m says someone, possibly his neighbor, making a mess on his driveway in the 1200 block of S. Dodge. He says he’d been filling holes in his yard with dirt and replacing grass and dirt that he’d dug up. When he got up in the morning, the dirt was dug out of the hole and thrown onto his driveway. He says his neighbor has been acting strangely lately, like refusing to acknowledge when he says hi or tries to be friendly.

Vehicle shot…
12:55 pm
A 24/m says someone fired a gun at him while he was in his car in the 1300 block of N. Terrace. The bullet struck his vehicle, causing damage. Police issued a warrant for the guy who fired the shot.

4:30 pm
A 36/m says someone threatened him with a metal milk jug in the 1500 block of S. Meridian. No one was hurt.

Robbed at gunpoint…
6:00 pm
A 31/m says someone pointed a gun at him and took his property in the 1500 block of N. Jeanette. He wasn’t hurt.
