Wichita Public Schools change start times

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) Wichita parents have an extra ten minutes this year to get their kids ready and out the door for school.

The district says the calendar returns to the 190-day schedule with shorter days, back to a bell schedule most parents and students were used to. As a money-saving measure in the last couple years, the district had adjusted to fewer school days with earlier start times and later final bells.

Winter break is Dec. 19 through Jan. 2. Spring break goes from March 11 through 15.

The start and end dates are a week off from the current year where school started Aug. 23 and the last day is set for May 16.
