Wichita Masons hosting free cancer screenings

Midwest Cancer Alliance

WICHITA, Kan. People who attend Friday's Health and Safety Fair in Wichita are invited to get free cancer screenings hosted by North Star Masonic Lodge No. 168 at the Sedgwick County Extension Office, 7100 W. 21st Street.

The Kansas Masonic Cancer Research Institute says Masonic lodge members will join health professionals from the Midwest Cancer Alliance and Diagnostic Imaging Center's Mobile Mammography unit to provide health services Friday.

These services include mobile mammography services from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and free skin cancer screenings, free prostate cancer screenings and the reception of free screen-to-save colon cancer home screening kits from 3 to 6 p.m.

The Kanas Masonic Foundation says Friday's health fair is one of 28 it's holding across the state this year.

"Dozens of area Masons work with the Kansas Masonic Foundation to coordinate each of the free screenings that often draw several hundred attendees of all ages," the foundation says.
