Toolbox…
7:31 am
A woman reports that someone broke into the toolbox in the bed of her husband’s pickup in the 1300 block of E. Mona. The crooks took everything from in the toolbox. She says the tag lights on the truck were also broken.

Destruction of property…
8:46 am
A 59/f reports someone using a cutting instrument to cut the exterior siding of the building in the 1200 block of N. Wellington. She doesn’t know if anyone actually got inside. Nothing is missing. She says the building is an environmental cleanup project, which is vacant.

Indecent exposure…
9:00 am
A woman reports a man exposing his genitals to her. The address is not listed because of the nature of the incident. The report says the same guy did the same thing on another date.

Trailer burglars…
9:20 am
A 56/m reports three people getting into a trailer by using a sawzall on the lock. They then made off with a bunch of tools. They caused damage to the trailer, a fence and a transformer in the process. This happened in the 3900 block of N. Bridgeport.

Copper theft…
10:00 am
A 32/m says someone stole 23 spools of copper from a construction site in the 3500 block of N. Maize. That area is a construction site. He has no idea who did it.

How to turn a ticket into an arrest…

An officer reports issuing a speeding citation to a man in the 10300 block of E. 21st N. The guy threw the citation off into the wind, then battered the officer and took off running. He was arrested. He was booked on interfering with law enforcement, obstruction, resisting arrest, battery of an officer, speeding and, of course, littering.

Craigslist scam…
1:19 pm
A 42/m reports trying to sell his car on Craigslist. He received a check that cleared his bank, but bounced the following day. He had already sent some cash back to the “buyer”. He says that guy is now asking for the rest of his money because he can’t get there to pick up the car. The bank says he is out the full amount of the check.

Not much of a friend…
2:36 pm
A 27/f says she was sick with the flu. Someone came to her house to help take care of her, but wound up helping herself to her car keys and car. She says her car didn’t have a tag on it. She was contacted by Chase County and told that they have her car in their possession. The car had been pulled over for an illegal tag. She needed a case number from WPD in order to get her car back.

Casing the joint…
3:29 pm
A 30/f says someone rang her doorbell three times. She went to check on it, but didn’t see anyone at the door. She says she looked outside and saw someone by her garage looking around her house. He then got into a vehicle and drove off.

Shoplifting…
6:34 pm
A 36/m says someone shoplifted items from a business in the 7700 block of E. Kellogg. All of the items were retained by the store. The crook was arrested on shoplifting and meth charges.

Possible thief...
11:44 pm
A man called police to report someone with a flashlight at a house under construction in the 2700 block of S. Lark. He thinks the guy was stealing construction materials.
