Wichita Police unveil new blue uniforms

Wichita Police announce they are changing uniforms. The department is doing away with the tan uniforms for Navy Blue.

The department made the announcement Thursday morning via social media.

Police say they started looking into making changes to the uniform a few years ago. Last year, the department set up a uniform committee, which came up with the new look.

The change will provide uniformity through the police department. WPD had several different uniform options, including tan shirt and pants and a green polo with tan pants. All uniforms will be replaced with a navy blue shirt and navy blue pants.
