Wichita woman killed when jeep falls 600 feet in Colorado

CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo. (KWCH) A Wichita woman is dead and her daughter is in serious condition after their jeep fell 600 feet down a mountainside in Chaffee County, Colorado.

Chaffee County Sheriff John Spezze says the accident happened around 12:30 p.m. MST on Tuesday.

He says 43-year-old Jennifer Lynn Orr was caravaning in a privately-owned 2014 Jeep Wrangler along Iron Chest Road when the crash happened.

He says she was 11,400 feet, about 3 miles above St. Elmo, when she tried to maneuver around over a rock and rolled the jeep down the mountainside.

Orr died in the crash. Her daughter was airlifted to a hospital in Pueblo.
