Beloit native on grounds crew for Cactus Bowl

Beloit native Brandon Isbell is helping to transform Chase Field in Phoenix from a baseball stadium into a football stadium for the Cactus Bowl with Kansas State and UCLA.

Isbell got his start in landscaping while at the University of Kansas, where he worked as a grounds crew member for the baseball team. Even though he's a Jayhawk, he's glad to see K-State in the desert.

Chase Field is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team. The Cactus Bowl will be played there because of construction at Arizona State's football stadium, where the game is typically played.

The transformation from a baseball to a football field took approximately two months to complete. New turf and bleachers have been installed to accommodate the playing surface and the fans.
