Kansas Stars shut out Liberal, move to 3-0 at NBC WS

WICHITA, Kan. The addition of an eight-time MLB All Star, World Series champion and 1999 National League MVP strengthened the Kansas Stars Wednesday night as the club of former big leaguers cruised to a 3-0 start in the NBC World Series with an 8-0 win over the Liberal Beejays at Wichita's Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Former Atlanta Brave Chipper Jones made an immediate impact with the Stars Wednesday, driving in three runs in his first NBC World Series game.

On the mound, Jake Peavy picked up the win in three shutout innings of work.
