WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) -- Ben Powers used to star on Friday nights. This past week, he starred in the Rose Bowl in front of more than 26 million people.
The former Kapaun Crusader and Butler Grizzly helped the Oklahoma Sooners amount 531 yards of total offense, as their starting offensive guard.
His former high school coach Dan Adelhardt said he knew he'd get there.
"That's one of the most rewarding things, is to see kids improve. And you hope that they make that improvement so they can help on a Friday night. And Ben, I've never seen a kid do it twice in a row," he said. "And I told people who were recruiting and not recruiting, listen, the kid has a ceiling you're not going to believe."
Ben Powers just finished his junior year at Oklahoma. At this time, he has not announced any plans to forgo his senior season.
