Lamb named National Coach of the Year

Wichita State head volleyball coach Chris Lamb has been named the Volleyball Magazine National Coach of the Year.

Lamb, who is in his 18th season, led the Shockers to a 29-4 overall record and a 20-0 undefeated season in WSU's first season in the American Athletic Conference. The Shockers played in their 11th NCAA Tournament and earned a national seed and hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.

He earned AVCA North Region Coach of the Year honors and was also the American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.

In his 18 seasons at WSU, Lamb has an overall record of 413-160 and has led the Shockers to 11 NCAA Tournament appearances, seven conference regular-season titles, four conference tournament titles and one Sweet 16.

He has coached 11 All-Americans and has been named Conference Coach of the Year five times. He has led the Shockers to 15-straight 20-win seasons.
