Marshall to team: Don't sleep on the Owls

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) -- Gregg Marshall makes his first coaching trip to Philadelphia Thursday and had a message for his team: don't sleep on the Owls.

It would be easy to misinterpret Temple's 11-10 overall record, or its 3-6 American Conference record, but this is the same team that beat Clemson, Auburn, Wisconsin, and South Carolina to start the season.

"They have our full and undivided attention," Marshall said. "We'll have to play well to win there and it's February and we still haven't seen them or Cincinnati, two of the more recognizable teams [in the conference]."

Marshall spoke highly about Temple head coach Fran Dunphy, a legend in the Philadelphia coaching circle.

He's also the same coach that beat Marshall the only other time he faced this program.

"They just do it right, they're not real complicated," he said. "They guard you, and they share the ball, and they can all score it. He has some really great players. We've got to go up there and play well to win, we know that."

Tipoff is 6:00CT on ESPN2 Thursday night from Philadelphia.
