WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) -- Trae Young was hyped as one of the top high school prospects leading into this college basketball season. The Sooner freshman did not disappoint in his upset over No. 3 Wichita State in downtown Wichita Saturday night.
Young hit a double-double (29 points and 10 assists) to elevate the Sooners past the Shockers 91-83 and improve to 8-1 on the season.
The guard entered this matchup as the nation's leading scorer, averaging 28.8 points per game. Including Saturday's 29-point affair, he has scored at least 28 points in seven consecutive games.
Wichita State (8-2) hosts Arkansas State Tuesday at Koch Arena.
