Asbury Church is excited to announce its second location, the Asbury Church West Campus, which will be located at 11910 West Pawnee, at 119th and Pawnee. The project started in late spring and is projected to be finished by January or February of 2014.
“About five years ago, we decided a wise approach to our ministry would be to become a multi-location church,” said the marketing director of Asbury Church Brent McNulty. The church then bought the land for the new location three years ago. West side church members are currently meeting at Explore Elementary school in Goddard, KS.
The goal for the second location is to have it be a place where people in the community can connect with each other through a variety of activities. It will be a place for church services, bible study’s for elementary through retirement, youth group, children’s ministry, a coffee shop, small group connection and community activities. “It will really be a neighborhood ministry center,” McNulty said.
After the completion of the new building, phase two will be to build a couple athletic fields there. That project doesn’t have an exact date but is proposed to start sometime next spring or summer.
“We are very excited to see this ministry center taking place,” McNulty said. “It’ll be a great place for people to connect with each other. It’s been a dream of ours for several years and we’re excited to finally make it a reality.”
