It’s easy to feel alone in a situation. There are many different trials that people undergo throughout life, and that is what the support groups at Asbury Church are there for. Asbury Church offers various support groups including parenting epilepsy, anger management, cancer, conquering addictions through Christ, grief, multiple sclerosis, unequally yoked couples and single parenting.

Allie’s Hope

This is a free support group for parents of children with Epilepsy. Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. every second and fourth Thursdays of the month, at the Asbury Church Central Campus inside Jitters.

Anger Management

This 8-week, court approved class focuses on fundamental anger management skills. Both women and men may attend. It is offered in the winter and fall on Tuesday nights from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The class is $10 per session, or $70 if paid up front.

Cancer

This group helps those with cancer and their caregivers to work through the struggles of cancer, ranging from diagnosis to survival. Through a DVD with worksheets and small group discussions, they aim to give hope in Christ. Meetings are 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. every second and fourth Thursday of the month at the Central Campus, room D106. The cost is $25 for materials.

Conquering Addictions through Christ

This is a free support group designed for individuals undergoing any life control issues. Meetings are at 10 a.m. every Saturday at the Central Campus in Jitters Coffee Shop.

Grief Share

This support group is there for anyone experiencing any sort of grief. Meetings are 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. every second and fourth Thursday of the month at the Central Campus Library. Cost is $15 for materials.

Multiple Sclerosis

This free support group is for those with multiple sclerosis and their caregivers. Meetings are 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. the first and third Saturday of the month in the Fireside room.

Single and Parenting

This group provides counseling for the single parent. It features advice from parenting experts, stories from other single parents and instructional parenting demonstrations. The session also includes a DVD and workbook. Meetings are 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. every second and fourth Thursday of the month at the Central Campus, room B111. Cost is $25 for materials.

Unequally Yoked Couples

This group is designed to counsel those who have a spouse with different beliefs. The sessions include teachings from the book ‘How to Win Without Words’ and small group discussions on the ins and outs of being a Christ follower in your home. Meetings are 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at the Central Campus room B110. Cost is $15 for materials.
