GraceMed held their 24th annual Skin Cancer Screening at GraceMed Health Center in early May. The event, which attracted 414 south central Kansas residents, was staffed by local dermatologists who volunteered their time.
The screenings were free and open to anyone who attended. The results showed that nine of the 414 guests possibly had melanoma, the most serious type of skin cancer, while 148 guests potentially have a type of skin cancer.
GraceMed’s event was sponsored by the American Cancer Society, Via Christi Health and other donors.
