KWCH - Kansas News and Weather - Burden Student Gets Whooping Cough

A student in Cowley County tests positive for whooping cough. The student attends Central Elementary in Burden.
The superintendent says the student is doing well and has been out of school since last week. She says the school has taken the proper precautions and that students who had contact with the child have been tested and in many cases vaccinated.
Whooping Cough is a repiratory infection characterized by severe coughing spells.
