A Wichita teen's condition is improving after being hit by a school bus Tuesday afternoon. The 17-year-old was struck while crossing the driveway at Southeast High School when the bus hit him.
He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but he's now listed in fair condition.
The boy was struck by the bus and run over by both the front and rear wheels of the bus. The driver says the boy was in the bus's blind spot.
Durham Bus Services and the school district are investigating the incident. The driver is on administrative leave.
No one on the bus was hurt.

A 17-year-old Wichita student is in critical condition after being hit by a bus near Southeast High School.
Wichita police tell Eyewitness News, the teen was walking across the driveway - on the sidewalk - when the bus hit him.
Students on that bus were transferred to another bus and then, taken home.
Paramedics took the injured student to the hospital in serious condition. He has since been downgraded to critical condition according to Wesley Medical Center.
A spokesperson for USD 259 tells us, the bus driver has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by Durham and the district. The driver has been with Durham since 1998.
The accident is still under investigation by police.
