The latest round of winter weather is almost over as the storm system begins to move through eastern Kansas.
Snowfall accumulation has been heaviest in northeast Kansas where Morrowville in Washington county had 12 inches of accumulation through Monday afternoon. Other areas in central Kansas have only had around 1 inch. Greenwood county had several inches Monday afternoon including 5 inches in the Eureka area.
The storm will continue to produce a light rain/snow mix overnight, but accumulations will be minimal tonight. Temperatures will fall well below freezing in western Kansas tonight, while much of central Kansas will be staying right near the freezing mark through the night.
The weather should improve by Wednesday with sunshine and temperatures climbing to near 50 around the state.
