(ATCHISON, Kan.)—
The federal government has cited a Kansas grain company for a deadly elevator explosion last October.
The grain dust explosion at Bartlett Grain in Atchison killed six workers.
The U-S Department of Labor says the deaths could have been prevented if operators addressed some hazards.
Investigators say problems included a lack of preventative maintenance and an inadequate emergency action plan.
The company says it's waiting to review the documents before commenting.
