Eyewitness News offered each candidate in his or her party's primary 2 minutes to make their case to voters. Read what they said below:

Hello, I'm Raj Goyle.

I am running for Congress because what Washington needs is a healthy dose of Kansas values.

Like many of us, I have grown tired of the bitter partisan bickering in Washington.

For me, good ideas don't come with a party label.

All that matters is whether it's right for Kansas.

For two terms in the Kansas State House, I worked to bring fiscal responsibility to state government by creating jobs, cutting wasteful spending and lowering taxes.

As a new representative, I worked hard and held myself to a high standard.

That is why I refused personal gifts and meals from lobbyists, voluntarily cut my own
legislative pay, and never missed a single vote.

I also worked across party lines.

My first act was to stand side-by-side with the Patriot Guard to write the law cracking down on Fred Phelps' outrageous efforts to dishonor our military heroes by picketing their funerals.

By working together, we were able to pass this law unanimously.

Now, grieving families are afforded the privacy and respect they deserve.

The very first thing I will do in Congress, is work to immediately repeal special tax breaks and loopholes that reward companies that ship our jobs overseas.

And we must stop the bailouts.

Greedy Wall Street banks and reckless CEOs broke the rules and crashed our economy… and Washington politicians bailed them out - with our money.

That's just wrong.

Kansans didn't cause this mess we're in, but some Kansas values will sure help to clean it up.

I humbly ask for your vote on August 3rd in the Democratic primary.

Thank you.
