Eyewitness News offered each candidate in his or her party's primary 2 minutes to make their case to voters. Read what they said below:
I am Robert Tillman, a life-long democrat and a candidate for the United States Representative for the State of Kansas District 4.
This is a congressional seat in Washington, DC. I want to go to Washington, DC to support President Barack Obama's efforts to get us out of this recession.
I support the recent health care reform bill, improving the economy, improving job opportunities, regulating financial industry, reducing the federal deficit and immigration reform.
I support ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan by July 2011.
I support the aircraft industry and blue collar workers. I will work to get small business government loans to start or continue a business.
I strongly support education and would support paying our unemployed workers, to attend technical, community or four year colleges.
I believe that it is time of a "Taxpayer Bailout" to help the underemployed, the unemployed, those people who have bill collectors calling, that are in foreclosure or in bankruptcy.
I need your vote in this congressional election on August 3, 2010 and again on November 2, 2010.
Remember: if I don't win this election, you lose.
I am Robert Tillman and I support this message.
Thank you.
