Nola Foulston

Nola Foulston

She ran uncontested for 20 years, but this year District Attorney Nola Foulston had to fight to keep her job.  Foulston won, receiving 55 percent of the vote to beat Wichita attorney Mark Schoenhofer.

Both candidates acknowledged it has been a tough fought campaign.  It's also been negative with a barrage of television ads in the last few weeks from both candidates.

Schoenhofer says he has no regrets and learned a lot.

"It was an educational process and this is one that is going to be counted among the very rewarding experiences I've had in my life," said Schoenhofer.

Foulston had nothing to say to her challenger.  She said it's businesses as usual when she goes back to work Wednesday.

"There's a lot of work to be done and we need to move forward and get the job done that we've been working hard for the last 19 years," said Foulston.
