A mother and her new baby boy are doing well after an overnight delivery on the side of the highway.
Jeff and Ashley Kane were on their way from El Dorado to Wichita because Ashley was in labor. But, they only made it to Kellogg & the Turnpike before baby McCale decided it was time to come out.
Jeff called 911 and pulled over, but McCale was already born by the time an ambulance arrived. Jeff took off his shirt to make sure the baby stayed warm.
McCale is 7 lbs 14 oz and 19 inches long.
EMTs checked their vitals and got both of them to Wesley Medical Center, where mom and baby are both doing fine.
McCale is the youngest of four boys. His three brothers are thrilled with the new addition to their family.
