Two Kansans in Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl are in the hospital after the pedicab they were riding in was hit by a car. A pedicab is a two person cart pulled by a bicycle.

Police say 21-year-old Michael Tysver and 21-year-old Cody Clark of Great Bend were both injured.  Clark is listed in very serious condition with a head trauma. Tysver is in stable condition with a spine injury.

Police say the man who hit the pedicab is suspected of driving drunk.  He was arrested for DUI, endangerment and aggravated assault.

The pedicab driver told police that he picked up Clark and Tysver at a downtown Scottsdale bar and was taking them to their hotel.  He was getting ready to make a left hand turn when a car hit from behind.

At this point in the investigation, investigators have found no mechanical or safety violations on the pedicab.  Police say it was also properly equipped for night driving.
