More than 600 boxes are in the mail, headed for troops overseas.

The 'Christmas in a Box' project comes from KFDI radio's Brian and Kellie. They started the project after September 11th, 2001 to support troops deployed over the holidays.

Kellie says having a son deployed last year over christmas, really brought home the importance of what they're doing.

During the first year of 'Christmas in a Box', the duo put together 45 boxes. This year, they sent nearly 600. They contain decorations, snacks toiletries and letters of encouragement.

Listeners donated items for the boxes and money to help pay for the postage.
