The Augusta Theater might be able to pay off its loan in full next week.

The theater bought an $80,000 3D digital projector with the help of a loan, it was installed earlier this week. Donations are being collected so the theater can avoid paying interest on the loan. It still needs about $25,000.

A local doctor and fan of the theater, Alice Meyer, says she'll match every donation made this week so the theater can avoid the interest payments.

"I thought I don't want to just donate," she said. "I want to use what I do to get other folks to also contribute."
