A lot of people may time how long it takes to get somewhere in your car.  But for a group of students at McPherson College, they time how long it takes to build a car.

About a year ago, a team of seven guys decided to get serious about assembling a Ford Model T. It's a project that seniors in the automobile restoration program have been doing for years for the school's annual car show.

They're now called the "Model T Team", and what they can do is quite impressive.

"We all have our own individual jobs. We each focus on a main part of the car and then we have about a dozen other jobs that if we see they need to be done, we do it," explains Joseph Staskowski, team member.

The team started with simple Model T that didn't have as many parts. They were able to assemble that one in a little more than seven minutes.

The team upgraded to a more complex model, that on Monday, they put together in ten minutes and twenty-five seconds - a new best time.

"We're always getting better. Sometimes there are struggles and sometimes there are not," said Taylor Adams, another team member.

The team now takes their talents on the road, performing at car shows like the Darryl Starbird show last month in Wichita.

Staskowski adds, "You can't take a car like this anywhere without somebody older telling you a story about their father's old Model T, and they'll sit with you for a half hour and tell you the story. It's the best."

The team says they're always looking to improve, working to get in a practice once a week.
