There is more help to restore an historic southwest Kansas depot.

The Heritage Trust Fund gave Dodge City a $90,000 grant to help restore the city's old Santa Fe Depot.

The city will use the money to make repairs to windows and doors, siding and floors. When the work is done, the city plans to inspect the building every three months.

The depot is 114 years old. The Dodge City Tourism Task Force and the Depot Theater are behind the project to stabilize and preserve the building. The depot is still active, with AmTrak train service, theater productions and tours on the depot's history.
