(HAYS, Kan.)—
A western Kansas school district has received final approval for a plan to build classrooms that can also serve as storm shelters.The Hays Daily News reports that the total estimated cost of the project is about $2.7 million, with the school district paying about $1.4 million.
School district officials say that with grant approval, the district will send out bids soon and construction likely will begin this spring.
