Women's fight for the right to vote

Women in Kansas fought for equal rights since the earliest days of statehood. They won the right to vote in municipal elections in 1887 and in 1912 became the 8^th state in the country to give women full voting rights in state elections. Eight years later, women received the right to vote in national elections.
