We've taken a number of phone calls and e-mails from people who don't know how to hook up their DTV Converter Boxes.
These are difficult calls to take because everyone's setup is going to be slightly different. The folks at the FCC have come up with some basic instructions that should help most people with their situation.
Look through the list of setups below and see which one fits your situation best. Click the links for easy-to-follow setup instructions. These instructions should work no matter which converter box you have.
This guide will walk you through setting up your system if you just have an antenna, converter box and TV.
Use this guide if you have an older TV that has "Twin-Lead" antenna wires (not a coaxial or "cable" input).
Use this guide if you want to hook up your converter box with a VCR or DVR.
This guide will help you set up your converter box if you still want to receive analog broadcasts from Low Power TV (LPTV) stations once the digital transition happens.
Note: Some converter boxes have an "analog passthrough" function. If your box has this feature, don't use this guide. Select one of the above guides based on which one suits your situation best.
