Tuesday night, I had the priviledge of introducing Denise Brown for her talk on domestic violence at the WSU Hughes Metropolitan Complex in Wichita.
The name is probably familiar. Denise is the sister of Nicole Brown-Simpson, who was murdered in 1994.

O.J. Simpson was acquited of the crime, but later found liable in a civil suit.

Denise's remarks were titled, "There's No Excuse For Abuse."
Among the interesting facts...last year at least 32 adults and 13 children died in Kansas related to domestic violence.

Statistics show that on average, a woman will return to her abuser five to seven times, often because of economic reasons. Brown's Wichita appearance was sponsored by the Wichita Women's Initiative Network.

The WIN group attempts to help victims of abuse get their lives back in order.
