Not much lasts for long in television or radio broadcasting.  Programs come and go, and people certainly do. Broadcasters tend to be a group of people always looking for the next challenge.

So it's remarkable that Wichita's top local sports radio show Sports Daily, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this week.

Ten years is an eon in this business.

Obviously, I am probably prejudiced as Sports Daily was the creation of and is still hosted by Eyewitness Sports director  Bruce Haertl, someone I've worked with since the mid-1980s.

But loyalty alone wouldn't have me tuning to KFH most weekday mornings between 9 & 11 am.

The show has to be pretty good to hold my attention, and it is.

On a recent drive through east and northeast Kansas, I listened to some bad sports radio.

It made me appreciate even more what Bruce & Bob Lutz do every day along with occassional fill in hosts.

Good work guys, and keep it up.
