After all these years, it's not often that a call to our Answerback line has me scratching my head, but here is one example.
The call came in during one of our recent Catch It Kansas shows, our Friday high school football extravaganza.
The gentleman complained that for most of the games, we showed highlights of the winning team doing well.
But when it came to "his" team, the only video we showed was his team having problems, even though they went on to win that night.
At first this sounded odd, but then I realized the answer was actually simple.
We send our photographers to many games on a Friday night, and they may only stay at each game for a little while, before moving on to another.
That's how we get so many highlights on the show.
For instance, said photographer may be at the Heights game for the first quarter, then on to Andover Central, then Circle....etc.
So what if Heights for instance, has a bad first quarter but later wins the game?
We show the only video we have for that game, which in a case like that, doesn't look good for Heights.
We simply don't have the staff to stay for all of every game.
I hope that makes sense.
Roger
