A viewer brings up an interesting question.
He noticed on the back side of his advance ballot one of the candidates for judge is deceased...and he asks if that nullifies the entire ballot.
We contacted the Governor's office and found out that:
Kansas Court of Appeals Chief Judge Richard Greene was up for reappointment but died October 7th from complications from a heart condition.
Ballots were already printed with his name and many were already mailed out.
His position now becomes a vacancy on the court.
People interested in the job can submit resumes to the Kansas Supreme Court Nomination Committee,
The Nomination Committee will select candidates to forward to Governor Brownback, who will make the final appointment.
This is a 4 year term and this candidate would fill the entire term
