(WICHITA, Kan.)—
A caller to our Answerback line last Satuday afternoon wondered why she was watching a basketball game that was a "blowout" instead of getting to see K-U.
The Jayhawks' game with Oklahoma Saturday was on ESPN, and therefore not available to us.
We had the CBS game on.
Believe me, we'd love to have K-U games on as often as possible (as well as K-State, Wichita State, etc) but those broadcasts are often set up, contracted and paid for long before the season begins.
It's not a situation where on a particular day, we CHOOSE to show a game other than our state teams.
Monday's K-U/K-State game is the same...it's on ESPN and simply not available to local stations like ours.
