Kansas voters decide to lower tax rates on boats. More than half of voters agreed with a proposed amendment to the Kansas Constitution.
That proposition allows lawmakers to lower tax rates on boats and watercraft.
Right now, many boat taxes in Kansas are higher than they are in neighboring states, so boat owners register their boats in those states instead of Kansas.
Supporters say the change could actually mean more revenue for Kansas.
The measure passed with 54% of the vote.
