The Wichita Police and Public Works & Utilities departments are working together in hopes of curbing theft this holiday season.
Crews will be setting up portable message signs near east and west Wichita shopping areas. The signs will display reminders for shoppers such as Hide your items, take your keys, lock your vehicle.
This is the sixth year in a row for the program.
The flashing message boards will be in place on Rock Road near Towne East Square and on West Maple near Towne West Square starting Wednesday. Later in December the signs will be moved to other shopping areas in Wichita.
