(McPHERSON, Kan)—
McPherson police say they are investigating a possible case of child abuse.
Officers were called to an address in the town Thursday afternoon after the report of an unresponsible child. A five-year-old child was transported by air to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Police say additional information received on Friday indicated it was a possible case of abuse. The child has been treated and is now in protective custody.
McPherson police say the father of the child is a Mcpherson County detention officer. Because of that, police have requested the assistance of the KBI in the investigation.
