A police chase starts in southwest Wichita and ends in a crashed minivan near the intersection of Pawnee & Rock Road.
Wichita police say, around 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, an officer was called to investigate a stolen minivan in the 5800 block of S. Seneca. When the officer arrived, the suspect was trying to start the van. The two struggled until the vehicle started. As the suspect was driving off, the officer's arm got stuck in the van and was broken.
The suspect then led police on a chase on eastbound Pawnee. The suspect hit another vehicle with the stolen van. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.
The chase ended when the suspect ran into a light pole at Pawnee & Rock Road. He was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. He was also taken into police custody.
Police say the suspect may have been on drugs.
