A former Derby school employee is accused of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.  Alfred Rocheleau was formally charged in Sedgwick County court Friday.  He was charged with lewd fondling or touching a child under 14-year-old.  The incidents allegedly happened between December 28, 2010 and September 8, 2011.

Derby sent letters home to parents with students at Derby Hills Elementary School.  The letter says the school is unaware of Rocheleau having any inappropriate contact with students at Derby Hills.

But as a precautionary measure, the parents of students who worked with Rocheleau in one-on-one or small group settings have been notified.  While the district says it has no indication that any students were victims of improper touching, it would be a good idea for parents to talk with their children.

The principal wrote in the letter, child safety is the most important thing so they wanted to be proactive about the situation.  The letter doesn't state what Rocheleau did at the school or when he was employed.
