A former Wichita police officer is back in jail on probation violation charges. Joseph McGill, 28, was booked into the jail late Tuesday night on charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
Records show he accused of abusing two girls under the age of five-years-old. The girls were both known to McGill. He's being held on a $500,000 bond and will be back in court May 31st.
McGill received three years of probation earlier this year, after he pleaded guilty to sex crimes against two citizens while he was on duty. During his sentencing in March, McGill apologized to the victims and accepted responsibility. He said he had been working on himself during the past year to make positive changes.
The judge said then McGill violated the public's trust and warned him he would go to jail if he violated the terms of his probation.
McGill has not been formally charged in the latest case.
