(HUTCHINSON, Kan.)—
Two suspects have been arrested in a lightning-fast break-in at a Hutchinson jewelry store earlier this month. The Hutchinson News reports police continued looking Monday for a third suspect in the Jan. 12 burglary at R. Westphal Jewelers.
After crashing a stolen Nissan Maxima through the plate-glass windows, they spent about 19 seconds breaking display cases with crowbars and filling bags with jewelry — but only made off with items made of sterling silver and cubic zirconium.
The Nissan had been stolen from Wichita. Police are investigating whether the Hutchinson break-in is related to a November smash-and-grab at a pawn shop in Wichita.
