(WICHITA, Kan.)—
A 22-year-old Wichita man is arrested after police found his four- and five-year-old children trying to cross the street by themselves.
It happened Monday afternoon in the 1700 block of S. Edgemoor.
An eyewitness told police one of the kids was nearly hit by a car.
One of them was able to lead a police officer back to their home, where the officer found the children's father inside playing video games.
The officer noticed a strong smell of marijuana, and when he went inside, the officer found drugs and paraphernalia in plain sight.
The father was arrested on child endangerment and drug charges.
The youngsters were released to the custody of their mother.
