(WICHITA, Kan.)—
Wichita police are still looking for the 27-year-old man who was last seen going into a sandpit pond. Earlier Monday, police said the family had talked to the man. However now police say they don't know if the family has had contact with him or not. Police have not directly heard from him.
The man disappeared Friday after fleeing from police. They tried to pull him over and police say he took off, eventually driving through a chain link fence surrounding a sandpit pond at 35th and Gold. Police saw him run from the car and thought he ran into the water. Search crews spent hours Friday looking for him but didn't find anything.
Police say they're still looking for the man.
